MR BRIGHTSIDE

COW VINTAGE SHIRT
TOPSHOP COAT
RIVER ISLAND BOOTS
URBAN OUTFITTERS WATCH
RIMMEL NAILS - RAPID RUBY

Today I was hoping to go to the Custard Factory (which no longer sells custard, and is just a handful of little vintage shops&cafes) to have a look around and take some photos, but it was closed, so I ended up in Cow Vintage and brought this gorgeous shirt. I think it adds quite an edgy feel to the outfit and will go well with mom jeans&disco pants. I also picked up a red and green tartan srunchie which was a complete bargain. Hopefully next weekend I'll be able to go to the other shops when they're open and get some more up-cycled things.

STRIPED

PRIMARK TOP
RIVER ISLAND LEGGINGS
RIVER ISLAND BOOTS
PRIMARK SUNGLASSES
As you can probably tell, I like to wear black. Today I ventured out to Primark, in search of socks. I ended up buying this top&sunglasses. I've been looking for a simple, striped t-shirt for ages and now I have finally got one. This outfit is pretty basic&simple, but I like the monochrome look that the stripes give it. As for my glasses, well, they will come in very handy with all the lovely British sunshine that we get right? Although I do love my boots, I think they could definitely do with a good clean..

TILE PRINT & T-BAR SHOES

URBAN OUTFITTERS DRESS
TOPSHOP T-SHIRT
PRIMARK TIGHTS
I have only just realized that there's a ladder in my tights. Oops.
Today I went out for lunch with my Mom, so thought I'd wear this pinafore dress. It's one of my most worn clothing items, but because it's fairly short, I had to battle against the wind all day to keep it from blowing up. Underneath it I have my white t-shirt with two mirrored birds on it (which you can't see anyway). I like to wear anything simple&white under the dress since it already has a strong print. These are actually my school shoes, but I think wearing them with dresses and skirts adds more of a girly/dainty feel to the outfit.
P.S excuse the moody face

ALEXA CHUNG: 'IT' REVIEW

IT

My obsession with Alexa Chung has no limits. So a few weeks ago I purchased her book 'IT' from Urban Outfitters, and was instantly addicted. It's a breath of fresh air for any die hard Alexa fan, or any fashion fan too. This book is definitely one of my all time favourite reads. It starts of like a personal diary of a 12 year old. Alexa shares all the hidden details of her life in a captivating and enchanting way, talking about her early tastes in music and clothes. A lot of the book consists of pictures, which all look amazing and break down the text, as well as delicate little doodles of faces or flowers. From fashion, hair&beauty tips, opinions on her first modelling picture at the age of sixteen, thoughts on lipsticks and haircuts, and discussing her idols including Kate Moss and Karl Lagerfeld, this little pink book's got everything.
I like to think of the book as a journal of her thoughts and pictures that her sixteen year old self would have wrote down or stuck above her bed for inspiration. Or I suppose you could think of it as a Pinterest board of things from different times of her life with Instagram pictures. My favourite line from the book? Without a doubt would be "I have to start putting my nail varnishes in the fridge to keep them nice, but now there's nowhere to keep the butter" purely because it inspired me to try it myself, and made me laugh. I highly recommend reading IT, as it was fascinating to read, and all of the pictures are completely gorgeous.

DOWN IN THE WOODS TODAY

TOPSHOP COAT
URBAN OUTFITTERS JEANS
RIVER ISLAND T-SHIRT
RIVER ISLAND BOOTS

Ok so, this is what I wore today. I recently purchased a pair of mom jeans, which was a bit of a commitment since they are extremely hard to pull off. Because of how baggy and over sized they are compared to my usual option of disco pants, they are very comfortable to wear. I like to pair them with any of my white or black t-shirts, tucked in messily at the front. I don't think there has been more than one day after buying my boots that i haven't worn them. They're very similar to the Vagabond Dioon Elastic Chelsea Boots, but definitely a cheaper option. I got my coat for Christmas, as I'd wanted it for ages. It does a great job of keeping me warm, and goes with everything in my wardrobe (especially since its black!).
Since its Sunday, and all i did was walk my dog&homework, i thought that a more casual outfit would be good, yet the second i got back from being in the cold i was in my pyjamas. What do you do on Sundays?

Introduction

Hello and Welcome to the first post of UNVOUGED.

So, I've decided to start a fashion/beauty blog. I'm alwaysss looking at other people's blogs and thought i would join in. I absolutely love fashion, so this blog will mainly be OOTD's, hauls, style inspiration posts, etc. But there will definitely be a lot of beauty posts too, maybe even a little music&books will creep onto here as well.

I should probably get started by introducing myself. My names Olivia Mae Hastings and I am from Birmingham, United Kingdom. My life consists of scrolling down my tumblr dashboard (unvouged.tumblr.com), eating pizza, watching Skins, buying clothes&make-up, attempting and constantly failing at trying to sort out my hair, and reading. I love reading. I have a slight addiction to The Hunger Games Trilogy, Divergent, Harry Potter&anything by John Green. I am fluent in the language of sarcasm. My obsessions include Alexa Chung, white t-shirts with black graphics (as you will see later on), Swim Deep, dark bushy eyebrows, the Arctic Monkeys, cacti and the smell of birthday cake.

Hopefully, this blog will improve dramatically over time, after i find my feet and decide what i want the overall style of my blog to be. So bare with me as i get to grips with everything. Thanks.
